Healthy + Fitness + Feeling Good About It
My fitness and healthy eating didn’t really kick start until college and I still have problems staying on the straight and narrow. Everyone is different and each persons journey will not be the same. Regardless you are going to have really good days and hard days, cheat days and progress days. But always keep your eye on the goal you set! Your goal could be anything or for any reason. I recently told myself, instead of hitting my target goal to last only for a days until its time to set a new one. How ‘bout set a healthy life goal.
As I write this, just finishing my favorite meal from Qdoba.
To this day I still have never hit my fitness/ health goal, I may have hit my target weight I needed or wanted but there was always something missing. I would definitely say that I am an emotional eater. When I was in high school I was in a private college prep school, dance 4 times a week and worked at the mall. There were times that I would be so stressed out that the smell of food would make me nauseous. I couldn’t eat a full meal for a long time, I would mostly eat 6 or 7 snacks a day and be good to go. (I am a huge snacker, btw). Fast forward to college, when I get stressed I eat everything in sight! Which meant I had to set an even bigger goal : better eating habits and my target weight.
My weight has always fluctuated, I always range between 128-135 with my best being 128. But that never meant that I physically looked the way I wanted to. As an athlete I’ve always wanted to have a muscular toned body, so that’s what I would always work toward. I workout at least 3-4 times a week, doing cardio every time and focusing on abs and either upper or lower body.
When ya feel good, ya do good.
Never feel like you’re alone in this fitness and health game. Everyone is always going through their different challenges. If you feel good, you’ll do good --- think about that for a second. When you skip a planned meal for a donut or maybe fried chicken, you immediately feel disgusted with yourself. Or when you skip that planned workout or cycle class you beat yourself up about it. Like I said we all have good days and bad days. Use those slip ups as motivation to get back to the grind. No one can do it for you, you have to go get it!
